Date added: Nov. 11, 2016

The event was hosted by the principal Tommy Browne, deputy principal Fiona Whitney, and librarian Lorna Vogelsang.
There were over 50 attendees, including The Lord Mayor Brendan Carr; Carol Hanney, Chief Executive of the City of Dublin Education and Training Board; Minister Eoghan Murphy; Cllr Dermot Lacey; Senator Kevin Humphreys; Jim O'Callaghan TD; Kathleen Moran, Senior Librarian JCSP Demonstration Library Project; local councillors Sonya Stapleton, Frank Kennedy, and Paddy McCartan; Parents Representatives; retired staff; and several members of staff from Larkin Community College, which is twinned with the library in Ringsend College.
There was a group of very helpful and polite students and prefects at the Grand Opening, who helped to set up, look after the guests, and clean up afterwards.  Evan Harte, first year, won an award for designing a beautiful new bookmark for the school; Fathia Alade, first year, won the award for being the first student to use the library outside of class time; and one of the administrators in the school, Paula Knowd (and her son Aron), won the award for being the first member of staff to borrow a book.
