School Art

In Art, Craft, Design you will have the opportunity to create images and objects using a variety of tools, materials and special equipment. To understand Art, Craft, Design it is important to make things yourself so that you learn and understand by doing.

Junior Cycle

The mission of the Art department is the learning and practice of the various stages and processes of Art, Craft and Design. It aims to develop the student in a holistic way encouraging and nurturing creativity, self-expression, social awareness, initiative and self-reliance.

The course offers the student a broad range of skills for example drawing, painting, graphic design, printmaking, sculpture, construction, pottery, ceramics and photography.

Senior Cycle

Art is offered as an option for Senior cycle. It is a broad course offering multiple opportunities to express artistic abilities through a range of disciplines. The course consists of four sections: Craft/Design, Still Life/Imaginative Composition, Life Drawing(62.5%) and Art History(37.5%)
